I led various events where I asked this question: What does Spirituality mean to you? Here are some of the responses from participants as well as definitions from well-known Yoga, Wellness & Spiritual Teachers.
Faith, fearless, love, connection, community, fullness, whole, how we feel when doing the things that fill our cups. ~JM
The deepest peace and love that we discover in our heart and soul when the mind quiets and stills. ~LJ
To me spirituality is about connection– connection to self, nature, people and the world in which we live. Spirituality is feeling a oneness with those elements in life through breath, reflection, acknowledgement and compassion. Spirituality can take many forms and resonate when we least expect it– but it is a practice that circles round and round in a constant evolution within the self, in relationship to the inner and the outer. ~DC
Spirituality, to me, means that I am an immortal soul on a human journey of learning and loving. The more I learn, love, grow, and evolve the closer I get to Enlightenment. But that can wait. For now my perfectly imperfect, fragile human body and my perfectly evolving immortal Spirit are both very happy to be here now, in the middle of the chaos of life, with my feet in the dirt, a cup of tea in my hand and my head in the clouds. ~CO
Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us, and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion. Practicing spirituality brings a sense of perspective, meaning and purpose to our lives. ~ Brené Brown
When your Spirit and Soul are in sync, it brings internal peace, therefore, allowing love and happiness! Our body’s hold the temple, of spiritual peace! LW
It’s respect and love for all life including yourself, and the action and thoughts you put out in the world that exemplifies this. ~TS
