What are SPY sessions all about?

Brene Brown wrote: Connection is why we are here. We are hard-wired to connect with others.
That is one of the main foundations of all the classes, workshops, trainings that I lead or sponsor!
I receive many requests from students who want to learn more about Yoga & Spirituality – living life on & off the mat.
They aren’t quite sure if they want to sign up for the Teacher Training Program, yet they know they want to live life with more intention and purpose.
They want to explore their life choices – and they know that being on the mat contributes to this curiosity.
They want to be in community with like-minded people.
So, if you want to live with more awareness and make mindful choices about your life (work, relationships, finances, etc.),
then join us for one, some or all of the below sessions. Peace, ~Maureen
Each session will include topic information, quotes/readings, group discussion, and practice (Meditation, Journaling, Mudras, Pranayama – it will vary from session to session).
All dates noted below are Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm and are held via webinar (online conferencing). You can also join by telephone.
The hours for these sessions may be used toward the Yoga NH Teacher Training Program.
SPY is on hold for the summer. I will ‘see’ you online in September!
2017 monthly dates and topics for SPY
September 6: Integrity & Authenticity
Two of my favorite words and concepts, in addition to two other works that begin with the same letters – I & A – intuition and attention. To live with integrity and authenticity requires trusting your intuition and paying attention to your life in a way that has meaning & purpose!
October 4: Life Purpose and Manifesting
We’ll discuss dharma/life purpose (Deepak Chopra’s 7th Spiritual Law) as well as Wayne Dyer’s Wishes Fulfilled book/concepts to help us focus on the stages of manifesting what we want in our lives – connecting that with purpose.
November 1: Mindfulness & Being present
Jon Kabit-Zinn describes Mindfulness as the 4 Ps: PAYING attention, on PURPOSE, to the PRESENT moment, in a PARTICULAR way, non-judgementally. We will discuss ways we do that well and tips for enhancing our capacity to be more mindful.
December 20: Wholeness & Inner Peace
Someone once wrote ‘Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. We will re-visit much of the material from past SPY sessions to celebrate what we have integrated into our lives – feeling more peaceful and contributing to a the sensation of wholeness.
January: Change & Standing Strong
The beginning of the year can be a time for reflection about things we want to change in our life. How can we do that and stand strong to attain our goals?
February: Values & Beliefs
Our core values and our belief system are inherent in the way we live our life – our actions, our reactions . . . and sometimes our values & beliefs are not integrated in the way we live our life. When that happens we do not feel authentic and it can affect our body, mind and soul.
March: Intention & Personal Power
Intention is e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g! Tap into your personal power
by understanding your intention behind everything you do and say!
April 5: Energy & Balance
No, wait – e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g is energy. It really is!
We’ll examine the concept of tapping into our energy and finding
the balance of the flow of life – body, mind & soul.
May 17: Transformation
The path of transformation requires an acute
awareness of all the topics we’ve discussed so far this year
– change, power, intention, energy, and balance.
